Born on Staten Island, Mitch (a.k.a. Mikki) del Monico grew up in Schenectady and later returned to NYC to nurture an extensive curiosity about human nature.

He has blogged for Huff Post and
has recently published Politically Divided: A How-To Healing Workbook for Families, Friends and Couples to address the growing political divide in our nation.

Winning an Alfred P. Sloan Screenwriting Award for his feature script, INDELIBLE, del Monico went on to win the Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Production Grant with director Randall Dottin and producer Melanie RW Oram.  The team later shot the major film components in Harlem and are working to bring it to completion.

It was through this project that del Monico met Toni D’Antonio, and the idea of working on a project together was born.  With luck on their side, ALTO, a feature film written by del Monico and produced by Toni's Shake the Tree Productions, LLC, became that project and is currently available on Amazon and other VoD platforms (distributed by Multicom Entertainment).
Additionally, del Monico is working on AGENT OF CHANGE (a short-form digital series) with the talented Shaan Dasani and director Jett Garrison, and has co-written TRIGGER POINT, a feature project in development with award-winning director, Hoang Duong, who completed a short film based on the full-length script.  He is also revising several projects for Shake The Tree Productions, including FALLEN PRINCESS, based on the true-life story of a Miss Rhode Island beauty queen who lost her crown when she was arrested for cocaine possession.

del Monico has also directed and edited music videos for the band, Antigone Rising:  "That Was the Whiskey" premiered on CMT (Country Music Television) and was nominated for an OUT Music Award; "Everywhere is Home" which also features Diana DeGarmo (American Idol) singing in ALTO; and "Borrowed Time" which we shot just for fun but has the deeper message that in life, we're all on the clock.
del Monico received an MFA with Honors (Screenwriting) from Columbia University, completing four feature screenplays during that time, two of which received Faculty Honors.  Also acting as the principal editor on several independent feature films, he has learned a lot about what it takes to tell a story and to work collaboratively.

Previously, del Monico worked for the now defunct Actuality Productions in Los Angeles, reviewing and editing scripts as the voice-over coordinator for the Modern Marvels series, which airs regularly on The History Channel, and as an associate producer and researcher for Workaholic Productions, which creates long-form documentary programming for both The History Channel and the Discovery Channel.

He currently lives in Los Angeles, but is really just a heartbeat away from another east-coast story, however, w
ith a nod to noir, del Monico has also started work on a mystery series based in L.A.
